It started back in 2018 when a mutual friend of ours (shoutout LC) told Mason about Holly. It took a year of randomly chatting on and off for him to successfully secure a first date at Mi Cocina in May of 2019. Lots of Mambo Taxis were had and we immediately clicked, were inseparable and were officially dating a month later. We dated long distance for 2 years while I was in law school in Oklahoma, during which time Mason bought our first house for us and we planned on my moving straight in upon graduation. We officially became roommates in May of 2021. We frequented our favorite restaurants - Eatzi's, Hudson House and Ice House - and we binge watched countless TV shows. In October of 2021 we decided to take our biggest leap yet when our fur baby, Meril, was born. We got to take our little girl home in December and we have no idea what we did before we had her. If you know us, you know we are truly obsessed. So, it was only fitting that Mason incorporated Meril into his asking me to marry him. Mason asked if I wanted to take Meril on "a sunset walk" around White Rock Lake (which I thought was strange because he typically avoids having to take her on walks), so on Tuesday October 11th, we began our walk around White Rock Lake with Meril. We hit a mile and I asked if we could turn around because "Meril" was tired. He insisted that we continue walking (again, very not on-brand for Mason), to which I pulled a total me-move and started nagging him to turn around. Little did I know we were walking to a dock that he and two of my best friends (shoutout Erin and Victoria) had decorated with flower arrangements for Mason to ask me the most important question. After I nagged a few more times he finally was semi-forced to show his hand...he looked at me and said sternly "there is a reason we are still walking"...to which I looked up and saw a dock lined with the most gorgeous white flower arrangements and I froze. If you know me, you know I am in control of EVERYTHING. So the fact that Mason (and Erin because she is the worst liar ever) were able to keep this under wraps is UNREAL. As I stopped dead in my tracks, I said "are you serious" to which he just kept walking....still frozen I said "Mason, is this a joke???" to which he just smiled...STILL frozen, I said one more time "are you f*cking with me??"...he had had enough and grabbed my hand and started leading (*read dragging*) me to the dock where he got down on one knee, Meril right there with us, and asked me to marry him. He insists that I said yes, but I honestly blacked out and have zero idea what I said. All I remember is darting for the ring and Mason's panic in his voice as he loudly said "Be very careful!! We are on a dock!!!" We then got to celebrate with our closest family and friends...at wait for it....ICE HOUSE! It was truly everything a girl could dream of, and everything I never thought Mason could pull over on me.

We can't wait to make this thing official!
